On April 7, the solemn ceremony of laying the first link of the Kazakhstan assembled rails was held during the construction of the second route “Almaty-1-Shu”, a strategically important project within the framework of the national industrialization program “Nurly Zhol”, in which SA Construction Group Company carries out construction works from 2015.

Construction of the second route from Almaty-1 to Shu will allow to increase the capacity of the site by 3 times and reduce the time of loading of the cargo. This suggests an increase in the opportunities of the transit market between China and the Persian Gulf, and consequently will have a favorable effect on the economic development of our Republic.

The commissioning of second roads at the Almaty-Shu railway station is expected to be completed by the end of 2016. This was stated during a press conference in the CCC by Deputy Chairman of the Transport Committee of the Ministry for Investments and Development Dmitriy Potlov.

“Completion of the project and commissioning of the second way is expected at the end of this year. And we assume that all these infrastructure projects will allow us to pass through our country large flows of goods, as well as effectively distribute our export and import operations,” – D. Potlov said.

He specified that the length of construction of the second way on the Almaty-Shu section made 124 km.

He also recalled that in 2015, the Borzhakty-Ersay railway was introduced in Kazakhstan, which allowed connecting the facility under construction with the main trunk lines of Kazakhstan. Also, a railway line “Zhezkazgan-Beineu” was introduced for temporary operation.

“If we focus on the road Zhezkazgan-Beineu, it allowed us to reduce the distance for more than 1 thousand km from east to west, from Dostyk and Altinkol stations to the port of Aktau, thereby creating conditions for the transport of goods by rail, which follow in the direction of the People’s Republic of China and back through the territory of Kazakhstan”, – concluded D. Potlov.

After the official part of the ceremony, all participants of the ceremony were invited to taste national dishes in the best traditions of the Kazakh people.
