The capacity of the ferry complex will be 4 million 100 thousand tons of cargo per year, said Roman Sklyar, vice-president of “NC” Kazakhstan Temirorzholy ” JSC at a press conference at the Central Communications Service.
“The project of building a ferry complex in the port of Kuryk includes the construction of hydraulic structures, piers, administrative auxiliary buildings. In addition, an access railway from the Ersai station will be built. The capacity of the ferry complex will be 4 million 100 thousand tons of ferry cargo a year. In April 2015, the construction of this facility was launched, “R. Sklyar said.
According to him, now the construction of the railway line “Borzhakty – Ersai” is in progress, the construction was started by the head of state in October 2014.
So, the cargo will be delivered along the railway line, necessary for the construction of the Kuryk port, in the future the line itself will become an important infrastructure facility for supporting offshore oil operations.
In general, the ferry complex in the port of Kuryk will become an important component of the transport and logistics system of the country. Its construction will allow to ensure transshipment of cargoes to neighboring countries of the Caspian region and further to Europe. Completion of the port is planned by the end of 2016.
Informational agency “Kazakh-Zerno” notes that the advantages of the coastal strip near the village of Kuryk are suitable climatic conditions: the bay does not freeze, a successful wind rose, sufficient depth, distance from the city, the probability of expanding production capacity, the presence of free territory for construction, a wide range of products.
The development of transport and logistics infrastructure will help to activate the economy of Kazakhstan, strengthen interregional cooperation, increase mobility, solve problems of entrepreneurship, Today.kz reports with reference to the Committee for Communication and Information of the Ministry of Investment and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
As noted by the department, within the framework of this priority area new road projects “Center-South” (Astana-Karaganda-Balkhash-Almaty), “Center-East” (Astana-Pavlodar-Aktau), “Center-West” (Astana -Arkalyk-Torgay-Shalkar-Beyneu-Aktau) will be implemented.
Along with this, in order to increase the transit of Kazakhstan for the development of export routes in the western direction, projects for the construction of the Borzhakty-Ersai railway lines and the ferry complex in the port Kuryk in the Mangistau region will be implemented.
Such large projects will require the creation of new job places. For example, up to 6,300 people were employed on two projects – the construction of the Western Europe-Western China highway and the Beyneu-Bozoy-Shymkent gas pipeline. Next year, the corridor “Western Europe-Western China” is expected to be launched. In addition, in December this year, launching of the “Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran” highway with a length of more than 800 km is expected. According to the most optimistic forecasts, this will increase the transit of goods up to 40 million.
Ultimately, large-scale construction and reconstruction of roads will have created up about 200 thousand jobs by 2020.
