Construction of the dry port object and infrastructure objects of the special economic zone «khorgos-east gates».

This global project is included in the strategic program «Nurly Zhol» initiaded by the first president N. A. Nazarbaev.

The special economic zone «Khorgos — East Gates» was established in 2011 based on the International Center for Cross-Border Cooperation (ICBS) «Khorgos» and is located on the territory of the Almaty region. The territory of the special economic zone is 5 740 hectares and is an integral part of the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The main objectives of the Free Economic Zone:

Creation of an efficient transport-logistics and industrial center ensuring the interests of trade and export activities and realization of the transit potential of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as contributing to the development of economic and cultural exchange with neighboring countries;
Realization of integration of Kazakhstan products into the global production and marketing system, creation of innovative, competitive domestic products in accordance with international standards;
Creation of a favorable investment climate and attraction of domestic and foreign investments for implementation of investment projects;
Accelerated development of the region to activate the entry of the republic’s economy into the system of world economic connections;
Improvement of the legal norms of market relations, introduction of modern management and control methods.
